Hello there, I’m Joseph.
I’m a 1st generation Mexican-American based in Rosemead, California.

As a kid, I would use my parents’ cameras whenever I had the chance, but mostly during family vacations. At first, it was just cool capturing random moments that were interesting to me, but over time, my eye got better, and my photos became more about making the ordinary look interesting not only to me, but to others too. I wanted others to see what I saw and how I saw it.

That hobby stayed with me into college, where I was introduced to tools like Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and other software. I initially saw these tools as opportunities to improve my creative skills and elevate my photography before deciding to pursue my degree in design. This got me a job as a lead designer at a small business in the packaging industry, where I became familiar with the process of digital print production and where I helped grow the art department.

In 2020, I was diagnosed with cancer at the same time that the world came to a stop. I’m lucky to have been surrounded by a great support system that was there with me through every step of the process.

These days, I’m interested in finding a balance between the different skills I’ve learned and working on creative projects that are fulfilling to myself or others.
